TVƵ faculty present at Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit

TVƵ Westbrook College of Health Professions Occupational Therapy Professor Regula (Regi) Robnett, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, and Professor Marilyn R. Gugliucci, M.A., Ph.D., director of TVƵ Geriatrics Education and Research in the TVƵ College of Osteopathic Medicine were co-presenters for an invited presentation at the Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit on September 20, 2017 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Robnett and Gugliucci’s presentation, titled “1st Tri-State Age Friendly University: Building Bridges of Knowledge, Engagement, and Support” was given in workshop format to garner discussion and open doors for partnerships as TVƵ advances its connections in the field of aging with older adults and communities.
TVƵ was recently recognized as an Age Friendly University (AFU) by the international Age Friendly University Global Network, which highlights the role higher education plays in meeting the challenges and opportunities of an aging population. To receive this designation, TVƵ demonstrated the numerous ways that it engages older adults to participate in core institutional activities, including education and research.
